if you read Nerve’s Letters from Leather Camp, bear in mind that the author committed a strong breach of ethics in attending the event. He was specifically told that the event did not admit members of the press, so he went under false pretenses. I’ve exchanged emails with “Manflesh” directly over the last couple of days and he says he feels duped and betrayed by the whole thing, and while Editor-in-Chief Michael Martin issued a written statement stated to NCSF, it wasn’t exactly an apology, simply an oops statement. Martin did claim, however, that the “Comments” section will return sometime today. You can send “your comments, criticisms, weigh in, and express your feelings about Grant Stoddard’s piece. Feel free to send your personal comments about Grant directly to him, but in the public forum of Nerve.com, please do not post them,” according to Martin’s written statement. Please register your complaints accordingly.

I will have more to say about this situation in an article I’ve written. It’s just that right now, I’m not sure where it’ll be published. If all else fails, I’m going to launch my own PervNetNews weblog.

I know the Mars/Venus arousal story’s made the rounds, but I’d like to point out two things. First, I’d like to know the degree to which women were aroused by different sexual depictions. It’s important, I think, because I’d bet my bottom dollar that it would prove to fall more along orientation lines. I know I’m aroused by all kinds of porn, but what I actually masturbate to is pretty limited in scope and falls within my heterosexual default. (Of course, I’ve yet to find authentic lesbian gangbang SM scenes, so I might yet be able to find lesbian stuff worth my clit; your average girl-on-girl scene lacks authenticity for me.) Second, the author of the study is J. Michael Dailey, whom I wrote about recently, no slight intended. But it does make a nice segue into the fact that Dailey’s beginning to answer his critics about his latest book. I’d like to think my article had some bearing there.

I happen to catch the tail-end of this NPR Marketplace story a couple of weeks ago while running evening errands: working in the adult industry. Note the comments from the editor of Distinction magazine. See? That’s the ghetto I keep talking about.

And I happened to catch Miss Exotic World about burlesque and the Miss Exotic World Pageant. I’m a pretty faithful CBS Sunday Morning watcher, but I almost didn’t watch it last weekend. Good thing I tuned in when I did.

I’m a little late on saying this, but hurray for Liam Neeson. He wasn’t detered from taking on the Alfred Kinsey role. (Link snagged from Evan.)For additional content and my diary, please visit www.pursedlips.com.
