use that word. Pornographers and the “family values” right and I see little difference in the way they use it. Re: CNN transcripts from a recent Crossfire show. Both pornographers and social conservatives use it to grab the public’s attention, but the latter uses it to up the rhetoric just enough to toe the gay-bashing line. Makes the former look honest by comparison.

Yes, if full civil rights are given to all American individuals, it does mean transsexuals will receive those rights too. But you know what? Many post-op transsexuals are in opposite-sex relationships, i.e., heterosexual relationships. Yeesh.

Oh, about that “homosexuals have lots of partners” comment from the right: I bet that a survey of straight people would find lots of them having lots of sex partners in a single year. Especially if they’re under 30, single, and party regularly.

Op-ed writer David Sarasohn does a nice job pointing out some of the foibles of Pat Robertson’s reasoning, but his pokes at Robertson’s eternal youth makeup made me realize that maybe, just maybe, what Robertson needs is a do-better by the Fab 5. Might do him some good to be Queen for a Day.

On a final note of a different sort, I know the masturbate for prostate health has been going around, but I have two comments on it. First, it’s been well known for some time that ejaculation is good for the gland. I think what this study does is spike out a low-risk sexual activity outcome versus some-risk sexual activity outcome in relation to the prostate. (Yeah, I know, sex geek language. So Sue me.) But what I find really telling? Graham Giles’ last statement: “Men have many ways of using their prostate which don’t involve women or other men.” Butt play anyone?
