Frank Rich pointing out the absurdities of the “porn made them do it” argument, re: Abu Ghraib. But just because we’ve seen the light, don’t assume for one minute our president has. After all, he’s visiting a proponent of that train of thought this very day. Guess we’ll have to count on Howard Stern to turn the masses (especially those NASCAR dads) against the forces of today’s culture war.

And speaking of porn, I should take the time out to say that I’m well aware of the exaggerations Primetime Thursday made in its porn story last week. My radar went up when Diane Sawyer mentioned chlamydia as if it were the worst STI on the face of the earth when, in reality, it’s the common cold of STI. I doubt one can work in porn without contracting it. And I’m aware that Lara Roxx wasn’t exactly known talent in the industry. For the most part, newbies don’t earn instant celebrity, do they?

Certainly, the whole story had a “how disgusting” tone to it. But if the bait-and-switch pressure is real, that I’m not going to excuse.

Interesting articles about women working in Sin City.

One bright spot: a book for guys about women’s pleasure. With oral sex becoming the way teens and young adults postpone intercourse these days, guys need to learn that it’s not all about their cocks. I hope lots of curious young men devour this book the way we all did Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex and The Joy of Sex in the 1970s.

Yeah, it’s a short entry today. Everyone’s sick here with head colds and tummy bugs, so I’m a busy mom. Hopefully, I’ll have more links and commentary on Friday.
