Not long ago, when Wired hired a tech sex writer, I kind of shrugged. I mean, didn’t Lisa Palac do this a decade ago? But now, inthe light of this new day, I took another look at Regina Lynn’s writing and decided that the more mainstream press and magazine talk about sex — especially sex in modern, progressive terms — the best. Let that critical mass continue to grow.
Which leads me to point out to you that Rachel Kramer Bussel now has a Village Voice column. Don’t see it as a dating column, but a sex and dating column. And Susie Bright has joined the blogosphere. THANK GOD or whomever you worship. We need her voice now more than ever and we’ll get it unadulterated. It we’re going to have another culture war, let the sex-positive voices be in the front line.
And speaking of culture war, Kinsey, Kinsey, Kinsey. Go see this movie when it comes out. Make it an unqualified hit. Consumer dollars speak volumes, so let’s encourage capitalism to trump moralism, OK?
Watch this, too, when it’s televised in February.
Last, I failed to include Clean Sheet’s recent look at the I Do/I Don’t anthology. Take the time to read its October sex-and-politics offering, please.
