Rachel Kramer Bussel explores the tug ‘o war that comes with being bisexual and I gotta say: Yeah, what she said. I’m especially pleased to see Rachel focusing on male bisexuality — it’s too easily prejudicially ignored or discounted. Bravo-va!
Things are generally better today for us bifolk than two or three decades ago — hell, I was scared off of my bisexuality for a long time because of the sharp divisions between straight and queer feminists — but we still too often encounter the automatic slut label. People still assume you’ll do anyone anytime when bisexuality is, in truth, as varied as any other expressions of sexuality.
Kudos to Rachel for hitting the salient points.
Is nudism dying out in America? Maybe. (I’d love to stay at one of the Connecticut resorts, but I wonder if my partner would have to rein in enough COG behaviors to feel stifled while nude? I’ll have to ask him about that one.)
Compliments of Violet Blue, a quick and easy guide to sexy podcasts. I’ve been thinking about podcasting for some time but two things are holding me back. One is I tend to stutter, which doesn’t make for a good broadcasting voice. Another is that my disabled son takes enough of my time that it would be difficult to maintain a regular schedule. However, he’s been accepted into a supportive housing program and, come September, I might have a lot of extra time on my hands. So, would you mind the occasionaly stammer from me?
Finally, take a moment and listen to the current installment of the WMAC program, 51 Percent, about Griswold v. Connecticut. It could be at risk if there’s a significant shift to the right on the U.S. Supreme Court. I’d like to think that, after forty years, it’d be considered the law of the land and too long on the books to take down, but the far right’s distaste for privacy rights started with this ruling and if they could dismantle it, then every privacy ruling we’ve had the benefit of enjoying could be up for grabs. (Not sure when they update the site with the newest program, but if the program intro doesn’t mention Griswold v. Connecticut, look for it under last week’s show.)
