anxiety prompting self-censorship, it’s good to see Cinekink and its co-founder/director Lisa Vandever getting notice. Tickets for the event are available now and if you’re in the New York metro area, I highly recommend this film festival. It focuses on sex-positive films, giving preference to BDSM, leather, kink works, resulting in a fairly eccletic and wide-ranging selection.

I attended the weekend portion of last year’s festival and really enjoyed myself, viewing hours over the two days — and without getting all blinky weird ala Clockwork Orange (or Robot Chicken for that matter). And I appreciated seeing everything from a John Waters schlock tribute to Japanese computer animation to transman porn.

This year, the festival presents more narrative film than fetish or experimental works and word has it that, later this year, the festival will once again travel to San Francisco where it sold out last year.

Cinekink. Go see it.
